Hayakawa Shokosai IV (1902-1975)

Born "Hayakawa Tadahiro"

The eldest son of Shokosai III, he inherited the name of family artist at age 21 and associated his work with the art of scholars (bunjin), buddhist monks, politicians, artisans and remained close to Sencha tea schools.

After the destruction of the family home in Osaka during the Second World War, he moved to Kyoto where the family now resides.
