Nicolas Pinon
Nicolas Pinon is a cabinetmaker and lacquer artist, specializing since 2013 in Japanese urushi lacquer and high-end finishes. Trained in France, Spain, and Japan under Master Nagatoshi Onishi, he has developed a practice that combines restoration with contemporary creation. In 2020, he was awarded the Liliane Bettencourt Prize for the Intelligence of the Hand with Dimitry Hlinka for the Entropie radiator, as well as the Grand Prix de la Création of the City of Paris. His work explores traditional techniques, particularly kanshitsu, which he translates into a contemporary visual language.
Dimitry Hlinka
Dimitry Hlinka is an artisan and designer. A graduate of the École Boulle in Marquetry and Event Design, his practice is rooted in the exploration of materials, blending traditional craftsmanship with digital tools in a logic of applied research. Guided by the mechanical and expressive qualities of matter, he designs pieces where form, function, and narrative emerge from experimentation. In 2020, he was awarded the Liliane Bettencourt Prize for the Intelligence of the Hand with Nicolas Pinon for the Entropie project.
