IKEDA Yoshihiro (b. 1982, Tokyo)
Trained at the Ōita Prefectural Bamboo Craft Training Center, Ikeda Yoshihiro has developed an artistic approach rooted in the exploration of intuitive and spontaneous forms. Working without preliminary sketches, he uses uniform bamboo strips and favours simple weaving techniques, allowing volumes to emerge gradually as the work takes shape.
His creative process relies on a subtle balance between technical mastery, chance and intuition, giving rise to sculptures whose forms seem to develop freely, without a predetermined model.
