Tashima Shiun, born in 1989 in Kumamoto (Kyushu island), graduated from the University of Traditional Arts, Bamboo Section, in Kyoto.

In 2010, she joined Studio TANABE in Sakai and began her apprenticeship with Chikuunsai III and then his son Chikuunsai IV. After 10 years of hard work, she was recognized by her master as an artist in her own right and took the name Shiun.

Tashima Shiun is considered one of the most talented disciples of Studio TANABE.
