The bamboo sculpture Choumushin, created by Tanabe Chikuunsai IV and architect Sawako Kaijima, is inspired by the writings of Zen monk Ryökan (1758-1831), who admired the subtle interactions between natural elements.

The flowing, interwoven bamboo forms evoke organic motifs, such as shells or coral, symbolizing harmony between humanity and nature.

Bamboo, a flexible and living material, here reflects resilience and adaptability.

The shades of red and gold recall shifting light, creating a sense of movement.

The collaboration with Sawako Kaijima brings architectural precision, blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design, inviting a Zen-like contemplation of natural balance.
