Symbiosis – Animism brings together the nervous lightness of bamboo and the raw density of earth. The earth gives the bamboo a grounded, telluric presence, while the bamboo retains its momentum, suppleness, and vitality.

Through this union, Tanabe Chikuunsai IV gives form to an animistic vision of the world, in which natural elements are imbued with presence and energy. The work evokes an organism in perpetual transformation—at once deeply rooted, fragile, and intensely alive.
